The success of young talents from Izmir University of Economics (IUE) dominated the Kadir Has University (KHAS) Short Film Competition, which was held for the second time this year. 

Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Department of Cinema and Digital Media student Yağmur Canpolat's short film titled ‘Sevim,’ in which she cast her 88-year-old grandmother, has been selected as a finalist at the 44^th Istanbul Film Festival this year. 

Bilge Olcay Yılmaz and Yağmur Türkmenoğlu, students of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Department of Cinema and Digital Media, made it to the finals of the 4^th Kaş International Film Festival with their documentary film titled ‘Thrifted’.

Berhan Mete Arkın, a graduate of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) who continued his studies in Slovenia, won an award at the Zagreb Film Festival with the script for his film ‘Aylan’ which explores the moral dilemma of a soldier tasked with enforcing border regulations. 

Yağmur Canpolat and Berna Oduncu, students of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Department of Cinema and Digital Media, won the first prize at the Adana International Golden Boll Film Festival (Altın Koza) with their 11-minute documentary ‘In My Early Twenties’. 

Yağmur Canpolat and Berna Oduncu, students of Izmir University of Economics, Department of Cinema and Digital Media, won the Best Documentary Film Award at the 31st International Adana Golden Boll Film Festival National Student Film Competition with their film "In My Early Twenties" which had been shot during the CDM232: Film Studio II class.

Double Exposure, directed by Ömer Nakay and Oğuz Kaan Kurt, students of the Cinema and Digital Media Department at İzmir University of Economics, won the third-place award at the KHAS Short Film Festival held in Istanbul.

Ecem Çörtle, a student from Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Department of Cinema and Digital Media, came third at the Infinite Frames Film Festival held in Hong Kong with her animated film ‘Galactic Treasure (Galaktik Hazine)’. 

Artist, director, activist and academician Zeyno Pekünlü was the guest of CDM232: Digital Film Studio II.

CDM 4th-grade student Ecem Çörtle has been selected as a finalist in the National Student Films category of the 30th International Adana Golden Boll Film Festival with her artificial intelligence-based and science-fiction-themed film, "The Galactic Treasure", which she produced as part of the CDM302: Film Production II course in the 3rd grade.
