Visual Display of Data and Information
The aim of this workshop is to introduce the basic notions and processes of data visualization and allowing participants to explore various approaches by programming. Participants will experience a basic workflow to visualize vast amount of data to create an infographic on a given or chosen phenomenon. Targeted output of the workshop might be high resolution print or screen based animated or interactive graphics.
Munich Film School cinematography lecturar German cinematographer Stephan Vorbrugg, practiced a film-making workshop with Cinema and Digital Media department students.
A panel discussion will be held on Current Issues in Turkish Cinema at 9th of March 2015 on 12:30.
The Department of Cinema and Digital Media, Izmir University of Economics (Turkey) and the Department of Cultural Technology and Communication, University of the Aegean, Lesvos (Greece) offer an intensive, hands-on Documentary Summer School in Izmir and Mytilene this summer, running from Monday 30 June to Sunday 13 July 2014.
German cinematographer Stephan Vorbrugg practiced a short film-making workshop with MC and CDM students between the dates, May 16-20. Besides from the workshop, Vorbrugg attended to the senior projects of students and gave feedbacks.
Swedish Cinema Day is holded in Izmir University of Economics. In event, organised by Cinema and Digital Media department, three films are screened, including; The Last Sentence, TPB AFK: The Pirate Bay Away From Keyboard and The Ice Dragon
A distinguished professor of media and communication studies at Simon Fraser University, Prof. Dr. Robert Hackett is visiting Izmir University of Economics in November.
The prominent and outstanding scholar of radical media, Prof. Dr. John Downing is going to teach a course about Alternative Media in collaboration with Associate Professor Pantelis Vatikiotis at IUE the spring semester. The course explores the history, different perspectives and definitions, and the various social agents of alternative media.
